Representatives of five ministries discussed issues of physical and military training of schoolchildren


A round table was held in Astana, organized by the National Scientific and Practical Center of Physical Culture of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and dedicated to the issues of physical and primary military training of students. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Committee on Military Security of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Border Guard Service of the National Security Committee, the Academy of Education named after I. Altynsarina, republican scientific centers, veteran organizations, public associations of military-patriotic orientation, as well as teachers and students of specialized educational institutions. 

The main purpose of the event was to discuss and develop recommendations for improving the system of physical training and moral and psychological education of future recruits. Special attention was paid to the interaction of educational institutions with military and sports structures, the introduction of modern methods of physical education and improving the psychological training of future military personnel.

In his welcoming speech, Vice Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Edil Ospan stressed the importance of the issues put up for discussion.:
"We are all responsible for the upbringing, education and development of more than 6 million children in our country, including over 1 million preschoolers, about 4 million schoolchildren and 800,000 college students. The issues of physical training of young people and their readiness to serve in the Armed Forces remain key to ensuring the country's defense capability. The Head of State noted that young people play an important role in the development of civil society and the modernization of the country, and fostering patriotism is a priority. Given that a significant part of youth is spent in educational institutions, the formation of values begins from school years," he said.

Vice Minister of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan Shaikh-Hassan Zhazykbayev highlighted the problems of military-patriotic education faced in the defense ministry, and also presented current initiatives in this area, paying special attention to upcoming changes in the teaching of the subject of basic military training. Arman Tashmetov, Director General of the National Scientific and Practical Center for Physical Culture of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, spoke about the problems and prospects of organizing physical education lessons, and his deputy Arken Tashubayev spoke about the work that the center conducts in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Following the results of the round table, recommendations were formed to improve the physical, moral and psychological training of conscripts, strengthen cooperation between educational institutions, sports organizations and military structures, as well as develop practical initiatives for the further development of military-patriotic education of young people.
